COSMA FELLOWS

In recognition of outstanding service, pedagogy, and research
COSMA Research Fellow and COSMA Service Fellow
The COSMA Fellow program is a unique distinction that demonstrates excellence for tenure and promotion, strong service engagement with COSMA, and an opportunity for distinction among other sport management educators. Similar to fellowships in other academic societies, the COSMA Fellows are designed for active contributors to sport management service and pedagogy, through COSMA and The COSMA Journal.
COSMA RESEARCH FELLOW
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • 10 refereed publications in peer-reviewed journals (five of which must have been published in the past 10 years).
  • First author on three refereed publications.
  • Three publications in The COSMA Journal (one of which must be first-author).
  • 10 conference presentations (five of which must have been in the past 10 years).
  • Six total presentations at the COSMA Conference.
COSMA SERVICE FELLOW
To be eligible, applicants must have at least five total points within the following categories.
  • Led a program through accreditation or reaffirmation of accreditation (1)
  • Service of one or more 3-year terms on the COSMA Board of Directors or Board of Commissioners (1)
  • Served as a site reviewer (1).
  • Presented six times at the COSMA Conference (1).
  • Published in The COSMA Journal (1).
  • Led a Case Study Cup team at the COSMA Conference (1).
*applicants may only count one point for each category. Accordingly, to meet the qualifications for the COSMA Service Fellow, applicants need to have satisfied a minimum of five of the six categories above.
Applications for both the COSMA Research Fellow and COSMA Service Fellow are due by not later than December 1st each year. To apply for these distinctions, please send all materials to Heather Alderman ([email protected]) prior to the application deadline.
