​The COSMA accreditation process benefited our program, faculty, students, and alumni greatly. Benefits include: 
            -  Enhanced curriculum (e.g., adding a new course in sport sales) 

            -  Raised program reputation and branding 

            -  Set strategic plan with goals and strategies for the program. 

            -  Cultivated student-centered opportunities (e.g., collaborative hands-on projects with industry organizations) 

            -  Encouraged faculty scholarly activities and faculty-student research projects 

            -  Continuing efforts by alumni advisory board to support students and program 

            -  Recognizing students by inducting them to Chi Sigma Mu student honor society."

What Sport Management Programs are "eligible" for accreditation?
  • At an accredited (or similar) degree-granting institution
  • 20/50 percent sport management content in associate's, bachelor's/ master's degrees
  • Identifiable sport management academic unit/ program that has operational control of the degree(s)
